Giving

We here at the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene believe giving comes from the heart, not out of duty. Our hearts should desire to worship in giving out of the blessings God has bestowed upon us. There is an understanding that our finances are not our own, they are God’s, and He allows us to be stewards of them. We encourage tithing as an act of obedience to God’s Word. Storehouse tithing is not only is scriptural but supports the local church, the denomination globally, the district of Northern Michigan, the Nazarene educational institutions, and missions around the world. We believe in being a debt free church and due to God’s blessings and the generosity of His people the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene became debt free in 2022.

Twice a year (Easter and Thanksgiving) we take a special offering that is directly applied to missions with a goal amount based on a percentage of our giving. This is a budgeted amount. We believe that those who have dedicated their lives to serve God in missional ministry should be financially supported through the Nazarene denomination without having to raise individual funds when home on furlough. These offerings are referred to as our World Evangelism Fund.

We also believe in furthering the building of churches, buying of land, and purchasing buildings, around the world for believers to have a place to worship together as a body of believers. We support this through a free-will offering twice a year (February and September), known as Alabaster. This church in its initial building phase was a recipient of Alabaster Funds.

We look forward to seeing what God wants to do in us, for us, and through us in the next year.
