The church is not the building, it is the body of believers. We here at the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene are a community of believers that desire to reach our community, love others and disciple maturing Christians. Nazarenes believe that God calls Christians to live a holy life that is only possible through God’s grace. The Holy Spirit cleanses our hearts from original sin and fills our heart with His love. Above all else we love the Lord our God with all our heart, strength, soul and mind and our neighbor as ourselves.

- Nancy Grody is the Pastor of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene. She was the youngest charter member of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene at age 12 and has been a Nazarene her entire life. Nancy is married to Leathel Grody, and they have four children. She is a bi-vocational minister who lives and works in Kalkaska. Nancy is a Physical Therapist at the local hospital and finds many opportunities to share the love of Christ while being His hands and feet in helping those who are struggling with physical limitations. She attended Olivet Nazarene University, the University of Michigan, and Nazarene Bible College. She was ordained on April 19, 2024, by Dr. Carla Sunberg, General Superintendent for the Church of the Nazarene.
- Our mission is to reach those who do not know Jesus as their personal savior, to love our neighbor with the love of Christ and to disciple one another as we all grow in grace to further the Kingdom of God for His glory.
- The Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene was organized in 1986 and has been an integral part of this community since opening its doors.
- The local church is part of the global Nazarene denomination that has been in existence since October 13, 1908.
